You Can Have Your Dream But You Can’t Have Me

Fun spring outfit I wore yesterday!  I knew I wanted to pair my new favorite Charlotte Olympia flats with my polka dot cropped pants (with fun shoes, a white top and a jean jacket, these pants make a no-fail outfit).  This subtly-acid washed jean jacket, although I haven’t featured it on my blog yet, is a staple for me.  I throw it on with shorts and dresses all summer.

I love this new top my mom got me at H&M!  You can’t tell from the picture but it’s jersey with chiffon-y cap sleeves and pleats at the front, plus a little rhinestone!  So cute and I will wear it all the time.

Of course, my blue Aldo bag that I love.  You can’t see them here, but I’m also rocking a cute set of colored rhinestone bracelets.

What I wore yesterday:

  • Merona pants from Target (came with belt)
  • H&M top
  • Charlotte Olympia flats
  • Heritage 1981 jean jacket from Forever 21
  • Aldo bag
  • Banana Republic Factory Store earrings
  • Express bracelets

Post title from the song Not the Boy Next Door, from the musical The Boy From Oz, but I learned it when Kurt performed it as his audition song on Glee.  Amazing.

Have fun with your wardrobe this spring, all!

Belated Pinwheel Day Post!

pinwheel day

Me and my pinwheel and my cute spring outfit on Monday (Pinwheel Day)!

Love this new skirt.  It has flamingos on it!  I’ll be wearing it all summer.

I glammed up the casual skirt and white tee with a blingy necklace, cute striped earrings for some pattern mixing, combat boots and a black bag.  Felt really pretty!

What I wore:

  • Delia’s skirt
  • Dakota Collective tee from Coco & Cashmere Boutique
  • Madden Girl boots
  • Forever 21 earrings
  • LOFT necklace
  • Marc by Marc Jacobs bag
  • Aunt Florence’s watch, of course

KITTY FLATS!!!!

What I wore Monday.

Rockin’ my new CHARLOTTE OLYMPIA FLATS!!!!  So excited about these.  Didn’t even know she made rubber versions of her classic kitty flats, so when I saw them shopping in NYC I was over the moon.

I let them pop against my go-to leopard dress in a simple silhouette, with minimal gold jewelry.  I think they look so great up against the bright green grass and flowers!  I know I’m going to be rocking these babies everywhere the rest of spring and all of summer.

What I wore:

  • Allison Joy dress from Hot Mama Boutique
  • Charlotte Olympia flats from Bergdorf Goodman
  • Marc by Marc Jacobs bag
  • Forever 21 bracelet
  • Macy’s earring

Have a fun rest of the week, all!

Beautiful spring day made all the better by beautiful cherry trees!  Didn’t even realize when picking my outfit how well the flowers on my favorite sum:

mer dress echo the cherry blooms!  It got so warm today I had to lose the shirt underneath.  I really liked it styled this way, I don’t usually do collared shirts under dresses for comfort reasons, but other than the temperature this worked well, and was a great way to put a twist on a go-to dress (which I will be wearing by itself all summer).

Rocking my adorable DV8 flats with the mismatched heart and envelope that I’ve shown in a previous post.

Rose gold jewelry and a strand of faux pearls.  My mom got me this awesome rose gold cuff that adds some edge to the look.

The stitching on this otherwise simple dress makes it really flattering.  It hits at just the right spot on my waist and the stitching on the bodice at the sides and top adds interest.

What I’m wearing today:

  • Forever 21 dress
  • Limited Too shirt (throwback, right?  I’ve had it since 8th grade)
  • DV8 flats
  • necklace from M2 Boutique
  • earrings from Nordstrom
  • cuff a present from my mom
  • Melie Bianco bag (not pictured)
  • Aunt Florence’s watch, of course

Happy Spring!

What I wore on my trip to NYC this past weekend!

This dress was an amazing find over spring break.  The colorful floral print is perfect, and between the zippers that make it a mix of girly and high-fashion edgy, and the fit-and-flare style (my go-to)  I feel like it was made for me.  I knew I wanted to pair it with my combat boots, and bold accessories, and that’s just what I did.

I chose to pick two colors in the dress and match accessories to them–a yellow purse and a bold pink lip (I’m a big fan of lipstick as an accessory).  The sunglasses, especially with the lipstick, make me feel so chic.  And all I needed to add to that was some simple silver jewelry.  To stay warm I wore my cropped navy faux-leather jacket by Ali & Kris, not pictured.

Had to take a pic in front of Bergdorf’s, where I did some awesome shopping on their famous fifth floor, which features favorite lines like Milly, Tibi, DVF, Theory, and Rag & Bone.  I got a few great pieces you will definitely be  seeing on here in the coming weeks!

What I wore in NYC:

  • MSGM dress from Nordstrom
  • Madden Girl boots
  • Street Level bag from Nastygal.com
  • Marc by Marc Jacobs sunglasses
  • MICHAEL Michael Kors bracelet
  • Hue tights
  • earrings from Clothes Minded Boutique
  • Smashbox (an awesome cruelty-free makeup brand) lipstick in Fuschia
  • and of course, my eternally chic Aunt Florence’s watch

Hope you all feel amazing this week.  Thanks so much for reading my blog!

Some awesome looks from last week.

Busy college life means I’m just posting these looks from last Monday and Wednesday, but I love them both!

First up, my all-time fave floral dress, paired with a classic cardi and a new statement necklace that I got at a jewelry sale at my school’s campus center (a fun surprise!).  Not to mention my awesome leopard–print oxfords.  I love to mix prints with this dress, and I do often because I worn it a million ways.

What I wore Monday:

  • Forever 21 dress and shoes
  • J. Crew cardigan I took from my mom
  • bracelet I also took from my mom
  • Necklace from jewelry sale
  • Ann Taylor tights
  • Vince Camuto earrings
  • wore my Rachel Rachel Roy bag with this, not pictured.

Next, Wednesday’s look.  An all time fave.  My crazy pants, back again.  Color coordinated and bold, but the slouchy white tee keeps it cool and not stuffily matchy-matchy.  I love the bold gold and edgy details with the pastels, and I’m rocking a new fave necklace that comes with two layered rows with little pastel stones.  Love layered necklaces, they add so much interest.

What I wore Wednesday:

  • J. Crew Collection pants
  • Forever 21 vest
  • Dakota Collective tee from Coco & Cashmere Boutique
  • Steve Madden Bag from T.J. Maxx, a b-day gift from Jenn
  • necklace from M2 Boutique
  • Francesca’s Collections belt
  • Guess bracelet
  • don’t remember what earrings I’m wearing, either little gold hoops from Macy’s or Vince Camuto gold studs

And of course, I always wear my beautiful Aunt Florence’s beautiful watch.

Have a great week all!
